JB Hunt Dedicated

I saw on the JB Hunt website that they have a dedicated JC Penny account open in my area (So. Cal.). I was wondering if anyone here has run this account before and could tell me what it was/is like? Is JB Hunt a decent co. to work for? I know Cluggy doesn't like them, but does anyone have anything good to say about them? Are the average miles and pay that they quote on their website fairly accurate? Are there any other dedicated accounts that are better that I should keep an eye out for? Thanks in advance.

so far so good

if anything the average miles on my account seem to be lower than what i actually am getting but i would look for wallmarts dcs accounts if i were you ...i have heard many good things about them ....

Wow! that was a quick response. Thanks for the advice bigdad7. What did you hear that was good about walmart, anything specific?

Yes, those numbers on the JB website as far as average miles will be exactly what the average miles are. They take the total number of miles for that account and divide it by the number of trucks on that account....then round it off.
That JC Penny account wont be open much longer for hiring, we already have a few people scheduled for orientation for it. Thats one of those jobs that tend to fill pretty fast

That's good to hear about the miles. I'm one of the guys already signed up for orientation on Monday, I just wanted to find out a little about the company and the account from those on the boards.

Thanks bigdad7, I'll keep an eye out for the wm account. Anyone know what JB's policy is on u-turns and idleing? I know it gets hot in AZ & NV during the summer so I need to keep the air on while I'm sleeping, a little electric fan is not enough.

idling

they have a stagered monthly bonus between 1 and 2 cpm based on fleet average for idling .....im sure uturns are discouraged.....

First. Thanks. It give me a warm feeling in my heart that you took the time to read my feeling toward JB. I was OTR for them, so i don't know about their dedicated accounts, but the drivers I spoke to would rather be on those accounts than OTR.

Second. Sheepdancer is a recruitor. He works for JB.

Their are other who have posted on this board who happen to like their time with Jb.

If you decide to go with JB, stick with the dedicated accounts. STAY AWAY FROM OTR.

As far as their policy on u-turns, I believe it's NO. As in don't do them on any street. Safety reasons that I happen to agree with. Too much of a chance of getting hit while your blind on the other side. If you have to turn around, go to a safe location, and do so there.

Good luck.

Cluggy, I have to tell you that here lately your comments towards Jb have been very professional. I just thought I would add that. I am impressed.
