Flatbed Fred Leaving TMC
This coming week will be my last with TMC so I wish to bid all here a fond farewell.
My "part time" recruiting position with TMC has been changed to an "in-house" position and although I was offered it if I moved to Des Moines, that's just not an option at this time. As far as driving for TMC I stll love that but I now have a new girlfriend and stepson who need me home more often so I'm putting that on hold. I'll look for a local position here in NY where I can get home early (hopefully) until I can get our affairs "in order". I'll still be posting here from time to time and will let you all know of my progress. Be safe everyone and hope all is well with all of you. |
Hey Fred, I thought your dedicated run had you home most nights?
Good luck to you and thanks for all your time/efforts telling it like it is. |
re fred
hey fred,
after all you have done for TMC they could not offer you a full time job from your home?? :? :x well listen... i've spoken to you months ago and you were always very helpful. .............hey since were neighbors..........if you come across "something".......let me know.... again all the best!!!! (ps) hey..is it ok to pm you sometime???? |
if you have a girlfriend that needs you home more and you are already home daily, sounds like you need to find a different line of work
|
I understand if they want a full time recruiter in Des Moines but if you already have a local driving job why would you have to look for another one? Whats wrong with staying at TMC?
|
You mean you can't turn down the F/T recruiter position and stay as a driver/part-time recruiter??
|
Fred,
Sorry to hear about the change. Thanks for all the support you have given to us over the past year. Your positive perspective was refreshing and fun to read. Best wishes for your future plans |
Does this mean no more Flatbed Fred website? That was a great site with lots of useful info. Looks like TMC could have worked something out, after being the loyal soldier you have been over the past year. I guess it's true what they say about the trucking industry, most burn out in the first year or so! I really hate to hear you are leaving.
You know Buzzdog is gonna have a field day with this one!!!!! |
My local gig with TMC is in New Jersey and would be great IF I lived in NJ. But most times it takes me at least 2 hours to get there and 2 hours to get back. Add those 4 hours to my 12-14 hour day on the local run and that's 16-18 hours on some days. If I am going to come home just to sleep I'd rather run OTR and make money for those hours and not waste them driving to and from my job. But right now, OTR is not an option for me given my current situation at home.
