This is a nightmare. Team driving is Bullshit! I don't care what anyone says, You can't sleep while your being bounced around or when the guy driving is a dumbass. I had to pull over last night because I'm just too tired to drive now. I started hallucinating!! I'm going solo with another company. Swift maybe? I dunno yet. All I know is that quality sleep is needed to be able to safely drive, and you don't get it.. period. I'm either waking up to a hard brake, corner, hard bump, horn blowing, music, whistleing, or talking on a cell phone. I'm done folks. If you think you can handle the sleep and compatibility factors, then this may be the right job for you. If not, don't even bother with it. It just isn't worth it.

If for some reason you can't quit and need to continue teaming for a bit here are some ideas that I was given and it helped me sleep when the truck was moving.

Get an air mattress like used for camping. Helps ease out the rough ride.

Get some ear plugs or put headphones on and go to sleep to music ( just don't strangle yourself with the wires)

Talk to FM about the problems to see if he/she can straighten them out or find you a different co-driver.

I like teaming as well as solo, but very hard to find the right person to team with........good luck

Well, I've decided to leave CRST after only 3 months. My reasons are numerous, but the trend I've seen here is that they run you out to the east and that's where you stay. You might as well sign up for an Eastern regional carrier. We are getting six and seven hundred mile Air Freight loads and if you are familiar with Air Freight, you know what a joke it is to try to get loaded or unloaded in a timely fashion. A ten hour wait to get loaded is pretty common. CRST expects you to pay for the tolls and then get reimbursed too. Basically you won't make any money here with these kinds of loads. Once they forward your Qcomm to Air Freight, you're screwed. You either take the loads they give you or you don't run. Try getting retention pay! That's a joke too. I put in my resignation today.

You know, sometimes drivers on this board post with the truth about a trucking company. But you had to learn for yourself. I know how that is, for i did the same. That's why I love to hate JB. Not so much as the time I had with them, but more because I too was proven wrong because I didn't listen.

This has been very interesting to read. Your patience with the trainer and co-driver have been inspiring! Have you found a new company to go with yet? It looks like you have the experience for Knight!
