Performance Food Group (PFG-Lester division)

These guys are another company I'm considering. What's the 411? Money, good to work for, benefits, Etc.

Well, I think they deliver to SubWay. Other than that, I dont know anything about them. Good Luck

it appears that most of their equipment is leased from ryder. So, that's a good thing, i suppose.

My thoughts on food distribution are as follows:

If you need a job, that pays well, NOW. Then food distribution might be up your alley.

Otherwise, i would not want to do it. Because other areas of trucking, such as car transport, pay just as much if not more. And there's less work involved.

So what i'm saying is that it's not worth it, unless you need a job now.

PFG:Good pay, good benifits AND LOTS OF PHYSICAL UNLOADING! I cross dock at a PFG in Elizaabeth,NJ. The drivers do seem happy and like it there. Now if they have a OTR run that goes to PFG to PFG, that maybe something to look into. The truck that my cross dock goes onto is out of PFG North Center in ME. He delivers to NJ and takes product back to ME.

Unless you actually have worked for a food service company CHAD, how would you know that it is not worth it? I have been doing food service for four years and I am happy with it. It pays well and I am home all but 2 nights a week.

They do have OTR, Good Bennies too. Supposedly 3rd largest Food distributing company in the USA. We have one their distribution centers in Central Maine. They advertise for OTR and local LTL...

PFG North Center. That is who takes my cross dock back up north and delivers it NH. 3 of thier trucks go to AFI-PFG in Elizabeth, NJ on tuesdays. 60k sounds about right for their OTR runs.
