Well guys time is running out and i am almost done with school. I have decided to go with May trucking. i hope that this is a good company if you know anything about this company let me know. I have heard pretty good things about them. thanks for all the replies

IMO, you can do better than May. I started out with them and it was a mistake. Iwas out of the layton terminal. Very driver unfriendly, lousy miles and no training whatsoever. Course there will always be some who hate them and some who love them. I would recomend CFI or CRETE, those are the some of the highest paid and most respected OTR companies. The have much better trainging too. I may be wrong about CRETE, not sure if they accept students,,,hmm,,,my bad.

Don't know anything about them at all, peg, but I know there have been posts on here concerning them. I just can't remember if they were good or bad or in between. A search should give you some info.

I am a newbie and have also been investigating them.... my employment counselors husband works for May out of Idaho... the main Terminal and I know of another driver who has been with them for about seven weeks. They both think highly of the company... they are getting the miles they want and are home every two to three weeks.... by choice... best of luck....

I was also with May trucking out of the Layton, Ut terminal. It is correct that they are driver unfriendly. Dispatchers hang up on you, your pay gets messed up. Miles usually suck.... They were not as bad as Swift.... but you could prolly do better. I work with Knight now and couldn't be happier.

I would also recommend Crete and CFI. They by far are the most respected. will 2nd that.

Have you talk with them yet ? Are you already line to go with them when you finish school ?

I have been with May for 6 months. I am out of Layton terminal and am on reefer side. They have treated me ok. I get good miles. Only twice have I had 1000 mile weeks because of slow freight. Their pay for newbies is not bad,since you get increases at 6,9,and 1 year of service. Their equipment is good and they service their tractors regularly. They are not a bad company to start with.

i talk to them last week. they told me basically that i was hired but i had to fill out an application within 2 weeks before i graduate from school.
