BigAtrukn 01-26-2007 03:44 AM

Excellent equipment and trailers, good miles and good pay. I was with them for month but came home for family problems now i have a local account with Schneider. People are friendly too, but good luck with your dispatcher they seem to lag on answering the qualcom and the phone.

I was looking at driving for them but they told me I HAD to park the truck in one of their lots when I was home and the nearest is Yolo which is 2 1/2 hrs away

My husband was never told that! Of course the closest yard to us would have been in Southern Idaho. He never did get any time off other than bringing the truck home to outfit it.

rcpilot 01-27-2007 12:30 AM

Where in Northern Cali are you located???

mikey4069 01-27-2007 03:59 AM

near red bluff ,ca and cottonwood scales

Orangetxguy 01-27-2007 04:54 AM

Mikey...you live by my favorite scales!!!! Always got treated well at Cottonwood.

Now... a suggestion for a decent company to work for...give Stidham Trucking...up in Yreka a call. They run great equipment, have multiple areas they run, have flatbed, stepdeck, heavy haul, and curtain vans.
Down at Corning you have Interstate Distributing with a yard, they pay well, Gordon Trucking has a swap yard in the Corning area as well.

If you want to work local...right there in Redding you will find Muse trucking...and for OTR you will find Hartsell Trucking..they used to be pretty decent.

You can also take a swing at Wal-Mart..right there by you. Wally has been known to hire the occasional newbie..if his or her driving ability is there..and no cussing occurs during the road test.

Just some suggestions

mikey4069 01-27-2007 05:07 AM

Thanks Well I'm a rookie but not a newbie been driving trucks around 6 yrs. I will be checking out some of company's you talk about . will see trying to find a company that's fits what you want is getting real hard.

Kintama 01-27-2007 07:05 AM

Wal Mart is right there, I'd hit them up.

west_coaster 01-27-2007 09:09 PM

If you want to get home quite a bit, I'd give Gordon a call. I went through Red Bluff weekly if not more while OTR with Gordon. I'm pretty sure Kona911 did too. You're in a pretty good place for dedicated fleet with thme also. Just a thought.
