A bus Driver coming to Trucking
hello, i been reading through messages reading alot . ireally enjoyed them. Here is my question. I drive transit busses for atlanta and its really getting on my nerves i am tired of driving all them crazy folks around and plus it is getting dangerous. recently we had a drivier get jumped on because he would not give him a transfer that causd the driver to get sliced in the face. Another driver got punched in the face because he told the guy to stand behind the yellow line even though we make 17-18 hr its not worth it. So my questions is do yall think that i making the right dicsion are should i just stick it out on the bus. My next question is i am going through a tech school to learn how to drive trucks(i can drive a buss but can drive a truck just yet hope its easy like a bus) i have looked at some companys can u guy and gals tell me a U.S, express, May, and Crete. are any company you think is worth looking at.

Running over highways 11+ hrs per day OTR will be very different that driving a city bus.
I'm assuming that you make $34-38k/year now. You will likely take a pay cut for the first 1-2 years. I'm just about at the 1 yr mark and I've made $34k with a good LTL company. On the plus side you will no longer have to live in a big metro like Atlanta if you don't want to. You may want to look into local work like construction supplies, food service, LTL etc. A bus is just a straight truck with difficult cargo :D You may be able to get some credit for your experience in other local driving jobs. thanks for the advice. i do mind a little pay cut hopefully not that much of a cut but the only person i take care of is me.
