Info on Prime and/or KLLM

I am trying to figure out which company would be best to work for. After a few weeks of nobody wanting to hire me I finally got 2, Prime and KLLM. I am fresh out of training school and have no experience. So i know i have to take what i can get, just to get the experience I will need. I hoping for a little input on both companies to help with the decision I need to make.

who have you applied for and what do you want to do? Van reefer flat

Well lets see i have tried US Xpress, Werner, Maverick, Roehl, schnieder, panther II, Central Refrigerated. I have tried just about every one in the books and other sites that help find driving jobs.

I have some medical issues that prevent me from doing flatbed. I would prefer a van job and better yet a no touch job. But I just want to work.

I dont have a bad driving history with only 2 moving violations. Other than that I am clear of anything that might cause a problem. Just a medical issues (minor to me now but was a major deal).

From what I know, KLLM has turned things around. Not many complaints about them. Driver's have good things to say.
They told me I would have to learn refer. Depending where you live, your out for 10-21 days. I believe orientation/training are in Mississippi.
I know nothing of Prime Inc.

have you been denied by any of those companies? did you go to an accredited school? the school you went to did not get you pre hired or have an affiliation with a company? My school guaranteed employment placing for life

Is refer driving a hard thing to learn? They also have a dry van division. And I and set for orientation in Atlanta.

No unforunately my school isnt accreditated so basically seemed to be headed in the direction or a CDL mill. I was lucky enough to pass everything on the test the first time but there is a lot I am sure I do not understand.

Well, I would rather go with KLLM since you will be a company driver. Prime will push you to lease a truck from them, really not advisable for someone just starting out in the business

Well that looks like the way I will be going due to the responces i have been getting And the advice from a close friend that has been a life long trucker.

Plus a rival recuiter called a little bit ago and said to get the rxperience and run with it.

Prime doesn't push you to lease. They have company trucks to fill and they are the ones paying the bill for those trucks. That's why they govern the speed and they have one dispatcher for each company driver division.

Well after doing alot of research and talking to a lot of different people I was going to pick KLLM. I was going to call today and get everything finalized, but the beat me to the call. I just got off the phone and for some strange reason the called and said I am now declined. I really dont know why it has been so hard for me to land a job in the industry? I have 2 moving violations that are almost 3 years old and thats it other than that I have never been in any trouble. So what is a man to do that cant get a job he would like?
