McLane or Sysco

Does anyone know of McLane food service or Sysco hires new graduates; or do they require at least 1-2 years of experience?

I know a guy who works for Mclane, they hired him right out of school but as a lumper, next they had him in the yard jockeying trailers and finally he bid on a job as a driver with his own route.

McLane has an ad in the newpaper that covers the Riverside,CA area. Sometimes it says 6 months exp, sometimes it says 1 year exp and sometimes it says 100,000 miles of clean driving. I'm guessing it depends on how many drivers they need that month.

Sysco also has an ad that says 1 year exp.

Hope this helps you.

I'd say that is true, I remember seeing on the Mclane website it was 2 years but depends on how bad they need drivers.

I looked at Mclane a couple of months ago and their website said 2 years. Now it doesn't say anything about having experience. It just says class A CDL. I emailed them and they seem to be taking their sweet time.

I know the Sysco in Olathe, KS hired students right out of school. I heard McLane hired out of school too, but didn't know of anyone that hired on with them. Good luck. :)

This is going to be very area dependant, and also how badly they need drivers like the others said. Put your apps in, if you don't hear back from them, try again in a few weeks.

SYSCO will hire anyone who walks. Alteast,SYSCO Lubbock will. I do know that SYSCO will train ya,on running routes, and atleast you will be home every night with SYSCO. The McLane guys are usually out 2 or 3 nights a week. I dont know why you would have to have experience to drive for McLane, those guys arent the sharpest pencil in the drawer. I see I dont know how many McLane drivers either going to Lubbock,or leaving from Lubbock, every night. Man,they do not know how to dim their lights. They are also known for running over anything with 4 legs. :P
