PTL

Need as much info good or bad about this company. New to the trucking industry---just finished schooling and trying to decide which way to go. There doesn't seem to be much said about PTL

One thing that you will learn about bitch boards: No news is usually good news.

If they were a bad company that screwed drivers over left and right, there would be plenty of info about them on here. I have a friend there who loves it. Sometimes they push him to stay out a little longer (he likes it that way), but they will also get him home anytime he requests it.

One other thing, they either have or are going to an all automatic fleet.

Good luck!

Unless PTL has changed policies they do not take students.

Well I stand corrected. Looks like, according to their web site, PTL is now accepting students.

Good grief** if it is a warm body a company will hire it

Jobs

From what I've been told is they all started hiring students because company's like Swift CR England and others are training getting signed contracts and don't get enough road trainers. I'm one of those waiting from swift So I'm going to oriantation with Transport America and it is 6 days and they'll have a trainer ready.

thanks

Thanks for the info. I sure enjoy reading the thoughts of the other drivers. Some really have a sense of humor. From what I understand their company is all automatics. Sounds like Schnieder is going to autos in the near future too. Any feelings on the automatics? I've been trained on manual so I really don't care which one I drive. Just thought it might not be as tiring with the automatics.

Auto

I know schneider is all automatics in Carlisle PA terminal where they are training.

My last truck with Maverick was an automatic and I fought the idea at first, but I'll tell you what, anyone who drives one for a week will never want to shift again. It really spoiled me and the fuel mileage was great! That's especially handy with a company that offers a fairly lucrative fuel bonus like Maverick does.
