US Xpress is in Ga and they have a SE regional that will get you home 3 out of 4 weekends a month.

Wow thats an open eneded question.

There are a number of factors to making that decision. The company that works for me may or may not work for him or for you.

Look for a balance of pay, benefits, hometime, and equipment.

Ask lots of questions about policies, equipment, mileage, fees, and anything else you can think of. He is wanted in the industry so he can be picky!

PS: The USX regional no longer does the 3 weekends out of 4 home. I was going to USX but they have changed their hometime.

Just wondering, what is their SE regional home time now? One good thing about USX; If you don't like the way they do things, waite two weeks, it'll change :P . Kinda like the weather.

I talked to 4 different recruiters over the last 3 weeks.

They all said the "new" super regional is basically the country is split in half. your hometime is 34-36 hours every 7-10 days and 2 of the recruiters said it was more like 10-12 days some weeks.

The USX web site now reflects the "Super Regional"

What part of Georgia are you in? I live in N.West Ga. and I am driving for Star Transport in Morton Il. Star hires in Georgia, and has had me home every weekend. The pay is not the best in the industry, starting at .27 cpm, however I am averaging 2600 miles per week. Star has fairly decent equipment ( 387 Peterbilts ) and even during my time with a trainer I got home every weekend. I guess you need to figure out what is best for your situation, as far as home time and pay etc. let me know if you are interested, and I can give you the recruiters # and ext.

If you get 2 yrs under your belt take Dahlonega Transportation companys out of Dahlonega, GA their very good company and really great dispatchs. Was when I quit back in Sept 04 I ran very hard at times I avg 3500 miles to 4500 miles but you dont have to run that hard what ever floats your boat. :D
