Default Employer looking for pay advice

Hi All, I have a small chemical manufacturing company. I am considering the purchase of a new tanker and truck to pick up some of our raw material. Currently we have 2 straight trucks and a tanker. However, my current drivers are paid as technicians since they are required to do a lot more technical work on-site than just driving and unloading product. However, the new truck will only be picking up loads 4 times a week at around 700 miles round trip, each trip. I am wondering if I could get some advice as to what kind of pay I should expect to pay a driver that has hazmat and tanker endorsements with a clean record and home almost every night. The trip would be simply driving our equipment to the manufacturers plant, loading and coming back and dropping the trailer. What kind of pay is the standard for this type of position? A full time hourly job, CPM, Contract pay, etc?

I need to make sure this piece of equipment will be able to pay for itself so any numbers or advice you could offer is very helpful. Thank You!

I'd want salary starting at $55K annually. Standard COLA after 6 months. Medical insurance, paid 2 weeks after 60 days, growing to 4 weeks at 3 years.

Too many variables, not enough info to make an informed suggestions... But considering it would be your only truck, i'd say "mndriver" is quiet reasonable, if you want quality, of course....

I agree with solo about needing more information. Most drivers are paid mileage. If you have basically the same runs each week, you could also pay the driver by the load. I would expect you will need to pay in the $50-65M range for a well qualified driver with a decent amount of experience. If you can get the driver home most nights you should not have a problem finding good drivers.
