Default Oil Field work

I recently took a job in north central Oklahoma that a friend "cough""cough" got me. I am leaving it because I got very good otr offer and this one requires running over hours and overweight almost every time we go out. But what I wanted to get across is that I know many drivers think you have to know somebody in the oil business to get on out here and that isn't true at all. Search names like triple F, Lariat oifield supply (also looking up Sandridge will get you to Lariat), Cascade (mainly an O/O lease company), HRT (this is the one I worked for), Best oilfield services and prohaul for a few. These companies require little to no experiance and some of them require you to live in provided housing and or be on call 24/7 while others run set shifts and some have benefits and some dont and some even furnish health insurance for either the employee or the employee and family at no charge. All you need is names to look them up and a Class A CDL with the tanker endorsement. Starting pay here will generally run from $18 an hour to $22 an hour and I have heard in Texas and ND you can get upwards of $35 an hour in places. Just thought I would share the info for those that didn't know.

I was running Texas for awhile and Stevens has a big presense out where. Apparently like everything else, the money isn't out there that once was, at least in TX. Have a old friend that works for Haliburton and does really well, but he's been with them over 20 years. I don't believe the new guys have it as good. Evverybody seems to say places like Haliburton are good starter companies work for them a year then find a job making more but again, don't really know. I know guys that make bank in Williston, ND 5 or 6 years ago but they're all back home in Tennesse now.
