Thumbs down Western Express! OMG!

What a rip off company this is. I've been with them for six months, now, and just had a chance to really look at the weekly pay stub. $.16 per mile! 2250 miles and only $352 gross pay. I couldn't figure out why I was getting such a small pay check. And there was no hiring bonus, no safety bonus, no benefits, no nothing. And the horrid locations I have to drive....... Just horrid! New drivers? Stay away from Western Express and C.R.England. CRE only pays $.11/mile if you're a co-driver, and $.18/mile if you're a trainer. Really disappointing.

You've driven for them for 6 months and just now looking at a pay stub? Really?

6 mo. and the low pay is a suprise? Didn't you know the cpm before you hired on? If not then it's your fault.

Ya know, I came in as an experienced driver. Treated like I was new to the industry. When I did ask what the pay rate was (several times during orientation, asked the first 2 DM's and the recruiter), no one would say. Either they "didn't know" or they'd "find out." Never happened. I only wanted 6 months with them, anyway. I was only giving the new drivers a warning about these rip off companies.

And as for Malaki86 comment, I have a crap computer that I haven't been able to pull up much on it, and that includes the attachments sent from the payroll information. They didn't download at all. I got a better response from a new, cheap smart phone than I have with the stupid computer. I thought I'd be able to afford a better, smarter, faster laptop, but not with Western Express rip off.

And as for Bigpapa, I should have had a larger base rate per mile and the per diem added on top of that. Not a stinking $.16 per mile.

But I'd like to thank you all for your comments.

Sounds like a job that requires a Class A CDL, documentation certifying completion of a SAP program, and GREEN CARD!!

Funny...I just applied to Western Express..

I ranted against JB Hunt in full hate mode after they did me wrong. Told others to go elsewhere because of this drivers experience.
Now I'm faced with this looking from the new driver point of view. Do I follow the warnings of a new poster, or do the due diligence and look up all complaints/comments, then decide.

That's what this board, and others like it, are for.

To the OP. Your message was heard, and noted. I will look for others. Then make an decision.
