Default Verifying past jobs

I have a couple of apps in and they need to verify a job that the company has shut it's doors. They say I need my w-2 from that employer. I told her I'm not sure if I know where it is. She told me, we'll put the app in and see if it gets kicked back out because of that employer.

Does anyone know of another way besides a w-2 to verify you had a job at an employer.

Thanks for any help.

You can get a copy of the W2 from the IRS.

Log books can help to substantiate your past employment, providing it was a driving position. Logs can also help you document your tax deductions for the IRS. You can also go to your local IRS office and ask them to print out a copy of your wages statement for the period. If you know how to contact your dispatcher or supervisor you might be able to get a notarized statement from them about your work history. One other thing that comes to mind is your tax preparer, if you have one. They may have copies of some of your tax documents. Previous tax returns may also help.

Thanks for the replies.

I found my w-2 s I needed, but didn't need them afterall.

My app was accepted at Crete today, just have to give notice to my current employer and figure out when to go to Crete.

Gotta practice driving the proper company way this week and hopefully my blood pressure doesn't go crazy like it usually does during a hiring process.

Lol - congrats on that Mervyn. I know exactly what you mean about learning to do it the proper company way again (and with the blood pressure). I left my outlaw company on Wednesday to start at Celadon on Monday.
