I don't think that it's possible to say 'best' with just a number and where you live. I drive tanks for Schneider National Bulk Carriers, I'm happy; you may be to, then again maybe not.
I work for Carry Transit it is a food grade outfit. Which are you interested in Food Grade or chemical? I think that and where you live are to major factors in deciding where you want to go. As well as what you are looking for in pay and benefits. Although from what I know of a lot of tanker companies want a year or more over the road. I know that Carry Transit (Food Grade) and Superior Logistics(Chemical), don't require it you just have to go through more of their training. Keep in mind tankers are not for everyone, but then again I guess you will never know unless you try right. If you want some information on a few different Tanker companies you can go to a blog on here called Tanker info for y'all. The person who runs that thread goes by the name Cyanide. There is a lot of cutting up on that thread but some good info as well and some very helpful people if you just ask questions. Nobody can really tell you where the best place for you to work is everyone has different opinions about it. They can only tell you what is working for them. Everyone needs different things to make them happy. I wish you the best and hope you find what makes you happy!
I just started back with Jim Aartman, a food grade hauler... "Cyanide" ran with them for a while and has posted alot of info on them along with other tanker co.s he's worked for... I ran local last year for a few months and recently decided to get back into driving and went with their line haul side.. this is my first trip as line haul and I'll be out 2 wks and will have a little over 6500 miles for the trip when I get back. I ran from Hilmar, CA to Greenwood, WI.. then reloaded in Thompson, IA to Neosho, MO and reloaded there the next day to Abbeville, AL then load in Blackshear, GA to deliver accross the street from our yard in Ripon, CA. Like Cyanide and others have stated your waiting time to load and unload is MUCH less than with vans and refers...
There is a Aartman in IN at:

Which Carry Yard were you wanting I have a list and their phone numbers. The one in Bridgeview IL. (right outside of Chicago) the number is 800-777-2288 and that would take you straight into the office I believe you would want to talk to Brian (that is the yard I am out of). If there is anything else you wish to know that I might be able to assist with just let me know.
