Default US Xpress or Jb Hunt? Good and Bad

I got accepted by both. By the looks of JB's website they appear to be tryin a little on reputation. US Xpress has tht sliding pay scale but not so bad trucks. Ok , if you get a dedicated or under 900 mile runs. Could I get response from current or former drivers for either? Once again, there are those tht love'em and hate'em

I have been driving for JB Hunt for the last 2.5 months, I got layed off from a LTL company so I decided to go back OTR. I have been pretty happy, slow at first and alot of sitting. Once you prove your going to pick up and deliver on time (or early) they tend to feed you miles. I have been averaging 2600 miles a week, most of my miles are daytime driving.
I'm in the OTR division so don't know much about the dedicated, intermodal, automotive or regional divisions? You will probably get more home time with US Express but you probably make more with JB Hunt. I have never worked for US Express so can't tell you which is better.
Most drivers on here bash JB Hunt but I would bet most have never driven for JB Hunt, and others did drive for them and didn't have a very good experience so they might chime in and tell how it went for them?

US Xpress is leaps and bounds above J.B. Hunt. and to compare us xpress to a STD is ludacris.

US Xpress is a fine company but you are not a true OTR company, plan to go to alot of railroad yard, stay east of the rockies, and their maintainence dept is not the best but they are ok.

U.s. xpress has better equipment, better reputation (just search for j.b. Hunt and u.s. xpress). I'm not sure about J.B. but U.S. will train you if you need it.

worked for u.s. xpress, quit because my truck was in the shop 6 times for a bad a/c they wouldn't/couldn't fix.

Unless you have driven for both I do not believe that it is fair for you to compare them. Both have their pluses and minuses it is what works for each individual.

JB Hunt or US Express. You will be lost in a herd either way. Those 2 companies are interested in being big at all costs. This guy with 2.5 months with JB is still in the usual "honeymoon" period. He has no idea what awaits him in the not too distant future. Find some other company. Bigger is definitely not better here. When you tire of their crap they will toss you aside. Kind of like a pimp does with a whore. You would have to be pathetically naive to think those companies really care anything about you except what you can do for them, nothing more. I would also say that some of guys who use message boards like this work for those companies. Believe nothing of what you hear. Get everything in writing. Stay away from those 2 bloated companies.
