smoke detector in there truck?

I just have a fear what if I'm sleeping and something in the truck or outside the catches fire and I wake up to late

I never did get one, but I always meant to.

What worried me more than smoke was carbon monoxide. But I never got a CO detector either.

I think you can get a combination smoke/CO detector. Not sure, but it does seem like a good idea to have both detectors in the truck.

I wish I had a co detector the other night was parked next to one of those trucks who has the exaust under the truck woke up with my head pounding and was groggy most of the day.

Never cared about that kind of stuff. If the stupid truck goes up in the night, I'll be the first one out in the parking lot, roasting marshmallows.
The only thing I'll save is my laptop...the rest of the junk can go up in smoke for all I care.

I never did but it's a great idea

Jackrabbit379 09-19-2007 11:13 PM

What if you buy a smoke detector, and you drive a Mack?

I agree because you can be overcome by smoke and never wake up to get out. Burning, rubber, plastic and whatever produce many poisonous gases that only take a second to take your breath away and render you unconscious. Burning freon creates phosgene gas which has killed people smoking around a freon leak. Since CO or carbon monoxide is odorless, colorless and tasteless, people are killed by it every year.

 I think a carbon monoxide detector is a great idea, I got poisoned one night! it`s not fun.
