Copy Text, to paste

What is happening is when i try to copy, (copy) takes it in a nested table, and tries to paste in total cells and rows. Just like a bit extension, it could make it a background image. But will not just copy a text (a word).

I like to copy text, so i could paste into any search engine, cause thats what i like doing, i see something that i what to know more about, so i copy it, paste into google, and presto, info. I like. :)

I do this on every web page, web site, web forum, and i did this before on cad too, but since the forum change to vbulletin, i can't copy text anymore, and no matter how hard i try not to copy text, i eventually try, can you please look into this, maby it's some permission on my side, i just have'nt found it yet,

Thank you.

I don't even need to use quote to do so. I clicked the "reply" button after I copied this line:

yea if i use quote, the post is opened into, "reply to thread".

And I just pasted it.

The only thing I can guess would be that your browser doesn't like the vbulletin system.

Yea it has to be my browser, I can't copy and paste on the open forum. I'm running internet explorer 6, on windows 2000.

IE 5 is to old to work on the web, and IE 7, is uncompatible with WINNT 2000. NT started about 1998, There's going to be a day when i'm going to have to toss this 10 year old tower and operating system.

I just found another way too, i click on the post number, right next to the rep icon,
a new window opens and i can copy any text i want, the way i want,
instead of copying a nested table for some reason ?????

Hey Thank You, again for helping me, Rev. Vassago much appreciated. :)

fdmax 10-28-2008 12:21 PM

Uh Oh, i just remembered, my laptop is XP, with IE7 and it's the same situation, with the copy and paste, but it's ok, i'll just use the same technic. hmmmm.

Well there is your problem right there. You are using Internet Explorer. It's time to upgrade to a real browser like Firefox.

fdmax 10-28-2008 12:35 PM

LOL, yea, i just read you Dear CAD letter,
I've tried firefox years and years ago, is it better now?, i did'nt like it, and you said you despised it, at one time, what do you think of it now?

There are still things about it that I don't care for, but overall it is a good browser. I really like the fact that I can easily add applications to it. One of my favorites is DownloadHelper, which allows me to easily download any media file from any web page. Another plus is that it will automatically underline any misspelled word you type, and when you right click, it will offer suggestions on spelling.

Right on, I'll look into it again, sounds like it's much improved, Thanks Rev.

fdmax 10-28-2008 03:40 PM

I just checked IE 7 on my laptop with XP, and the copy paste function works right.
It's the IE 6 on the tower with NT2000 thats not copying right.

By sunnydhiman edited Nov 28, 2006 - 2:21 PM BETA NEWS on Microsoft

i dont understand microsoft at times. windows 2000 server is the best operating system they have ever designed which at the moment is also the best and better than windows 2003 server. i have worked on both the systems and still find server 2000 more reliable than server 2003. i am sure there is a way of running ie7 on 2000. microsoft is just being lazy. think about it if firefox can work why cannt ie7.....

Thanks Rev. again, i'll try firefox on the tower.

It's actually something on this website. I have the same issue, but I can copy and paste with no problems on other V-Bulletin websites, both here and at home. I'm still fiddling around with the settings to see if I can find out why it's doing that.

I guess it's just me who can copy and paste then. I guess there's some merit to being the board owner after all!

"I guess it's just me who can copy and paste then." << said Rev in a cool collected manner.

I'm good. http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l2...nd10/shrug.gif << replied Hog munching on Halloween candy. (oink-grunt)

I'm using XP with FFox.
I stopped using IE 7 long ago.

I also like Download Helper, and AdBlocker, Smilie4, use cursor-point language translators,
and set up a google toolbar for many more add-ons....like dictionary, thesaurus, YouTube, weather channel, autofill, autolink, etc.
I added Evernote too which I really like...and a PDF downloader.

fdmax,

once you get ff installed, highlight the term you want to search, right click and then choose "search google for"...... and it will pop up in another window. :)

fdmax 10-29-2008 01:40 PM

OK, I'll try that :) I got FF installed on my tower today, Thank You, Vavega. :)
