No spoiled sport here, just a matter if time and age. While I was only an adolesent during the 60's, I had some extremely serious respiratory problems, including Whooping Cough. My Doctor had me on prescription drugs that, for me at least, had hallucinogenic side effects; so, even though I was very young, I was more in tune with the acid rock music of the 60's than most kids my age. I missed the "Nam" era by about five years; our involvement in Vietnam ended while I was in Jr. High School, or right after I started High School. Then, during the eighties, as the "Will Work For Food" craze hit the streets, I saw guys my age standing on street corners, holding up "Homeless Vietnam Veteran; Please Help" signs. I always got a good laugh at that!! :D |

Remember Deep Purple, Golden earing Ah but I do Remember Woodstock real well and the nights I spent in a Hippie Chic's tent... Plus, being awakened by Jimi Hendrix rendition of the Star Spangled Banner... Three fun days in August 1969! |
I would love to have been able to attend Woodstock, but I was too young, and lived too far away!!
Too bad, 'cause that was a once in a lifetime happening that has never been sucessfully repeated. After Hendrix, Kieth Moon, Janice Jopplin, and Jim morrison died, and The Beatles broke up, rock was never the same again. |
