Ncaa 2016

Football is back and the madness is showing early! Big Game Bob and OU are in a slobber knocker with Houston today.

Mr. Ford95 09-04-2016 04:12 PM

Bama showed they are legit or USC was overrated........a straight beatdown! And a true freshman at QB looked like he could be the real deal.

Clemson was lucky to escape The Plains over Auburn who made a late charge.

Houston could be a party pooper to the Big 5, only remaining big game is against Louisville and the AAC title game. They need to keep hammering opponents in their VERY inferior conference along with needing OU and Louisville to win as much as possible.

OSU and Michigan is going to be a war again this year!

belpre122 09-05-2016 09:03 AM

US Nationals at O'Reilly Raceway Park, Indianapolis today. About .5 mile from the homestead. Mr. Ford, GMAN, Hoggie, Ghobo invited!!!

Let's party down like we did on July 4th 2009! LOL

If I remember correctly......last party started with the statement...... "Finally out of OTR trucking" ........... I think

A war, yes. A very short war as OSU will send those pussies back up north (once again) with their tails between their legs! Hooooahhh

Mr. Ford95 09-05-2016 09:43 PM

I dunno, both played terrible teams in Week 1 but OSU was losing early on to Bowling Green. Michigan never had a hiccup......maybe that was down to Harbaugh not letting Hawaii have any video trades with them!

The SEC is really down this year it looks like. Just call it the Alabama Conference! The SEC looked terrible overall, culminating in Miss St's loss to South Alabama at home........

This could be a topsy-turvy year for everyone behind Clemson and Bama. I say Clemson, let's see what FSU does to Ol' Piss tonight in Orlando. FSU might be the better team than Clemson.

Jackrabbit379 09-10-2016 02:25 AM

Virginia Tech - Tennessee should be a good one. Playing at Bristol motor speedway. I bet that'll be fun.
Arkansas at tcu. I think it'll be a good road test for the hogs.
I think the rest of the power houses are playing cupcakes

Mr. Ford95 09-10-2016 06:39 PM

Clemsons cupcake is putting a beating on the Tigers a week after the #2 team barely escaped Auburn.......

Houston is without their starting QB, the kid starting today was the QB the last time the Cougars lost.........

Louisville looks legit against these inferior teams though Syracuse put a serious scare into them last night going to the half. 'Cuse had all the momentum but got stomped in the 2nd half with their All-World QB. Kid had 600 yards himself last night! Big game next week for the Cards against FSU.

Vt-UT is going to be mega tonight, when the crowd roars for racing, the drivers can hear the crowd over the engine of the car...........might be some mute folks come tomorrow! So friggin loud, talking 150-170K in attendance.

Utah-BYU, the nasty, unholy, holy war......

TCU-Arkansas is the game considered to be the closest marquee match up outside of the Battle of Bristol. Upset? TCU needs an early explosion or they could be in trouble.

Mr. Ford95 09-11-2016 06:33 PM

Clemson escaped...........they have not looked like the #2 team at all.

Battle at Bristol, 156,990 was the official attendance.........blew the previous record away of 115K set at Michigan Stadium. Sounds like this game may be a while before it happens again, like another 20-30 years per the talk of Bristol owner SMI's Marcus Smith.

Arkansas-TCU looked ugly early for TCU but they made a heck of a game with it.

Bama goes to Ole Piss next week, another ranked team early for Bama.
OU hosts Ohio St who didn't look too hot against Tulsa until the Tulsa QB started throwing TD passes to Buckeye players!
FSU travels to Louisville, this week's only Top 10 match up. We will see just how legit the Cards are with their All-World QB.
Houston rolled on without their QB and heads to Cincy this week as the #6 team in the land.

GMAN 09-13-2016 03:34 AM

Tennessee sent Virginia Tech packing. Texas won along with Ohio State. Georgia did well. There were several games that were close. It should be a good season for football. I think Tennessee should have a good year. Much better than some would have expected based upon their performance in recent years.

Mr. Ford95 09-13-2016 11:23 PM

Big Orange got lucky against Appy St. VT was 1 play from blowing them out. Take that fumble to start the 2nd quarter which Tennessee recovered at the VT 5 yard line and say it doesn't happen, VT rolls. By all rights, they should be 0-2. They are not that good even with all the experience they have this year.

Texas could be sneaky this year.

Georgia resembles Tennessee.

GMAN 09-18-2016 03:15 AM

Tennessee beat Ohio State 28 to 19. That is 3 wins in a row. It is a nice way to start the season. I hope it continues the rest of the season.

Mr. Ford95 09-18-2016 05:02 PM

Actually they beat Ohio University, once again, a not too hot team they failed to dominate. But, halfway to being Bowl eligible already. They get an also unimpressive Florida this week, Big Orange hasn't won this rivalry since 2004.

OU got destroyed by Ohio State after a long weather delay just prior to kickoff.

Bama came back like a champ against Ol Piss, 2nd time in 3 games Hugh Freeze has watched his team blow a 21 point lead and lose.

Louisville is for real, christ almighty their QB ripped apart FSU.

Michigan needed everything they could muster to come back on Colorado and win.

Iowa got smashed in the teeth by FCS 5 time defending champion North Dakota St.

Ranked match ups this week are Wisconsin vs Michigan St, Tennessee vs Florida, UGA vs Ol Piss and TAMU vs Arkansas

Mr. Ford95 09-25-2016 06:32 PM

Big Orange ran away in the 2nd half to get their first win over Florida since 2004. 4-0 and #11 in the Coaches Poll. They better get their act together and become a 4 quarter team but they were very impressive in their 2nd half domination on both sides of the ball. At the sametime, Florida looked silly after the half. UT travels to UGA next, UGA got embarrassed at Ole Piss yesterday, they will be looking for redemption.

Oregon has fallen badly, they looked terrible at home against Colorado.

Wisconsin flat whipped Michigan State a week after nearly being beat by Georgia State at home.

Michigan spanked Penn St..........leaving PSU fans calling for Franklin to be fired. Their 260 pound kicker made waves though after he killed the Michigan return man!

TAMU looked terrible for most of the game against Arkansas before pulling away.

Stanford continued to ho-hum win as they look like the team to beat in the Pac12.

Louisville look human at Marshall until Jackson exploded for 7 TDs, 5 thru the air and 2 on the ground. Marshall made it look more respectable late with the backups in.

Houston had an easy roll over Texas St but their kicking game looks suspect if they ever get into a close fight.

This week: Louisville-Clemson, winner has the inside track to the ACC title game, if Louisville wins, it SHOULD be their last big ACC roadblock on the schedule till the ACC title game. Clemson still has to play FSU.

Stanford-Washington, are the Huskies a legit Top 10 team under Chris Peterson?

Wisconsin-Michigan, can Wisconsin keep it rolling or is Michigan a real Top 5 team?

GMAN 09-26-2016 07:20 PM

Tennessee has historically been a second half team. I have noticed that when they start out strong in the first half, they tend to not do well in the second half. I was very proud of them against Florida. I almost did not watch once the score was 20 to 3 with Florida leading. I didn't think that they would make it back. They have a good coaching staff and good hard working team members. Beating Florida was a bug hurdle. Now, they need to be careful to not be over confident in the coming games. In any case, it is a good start for the season.

Mr. Ford95 09-29-2016 03:00 PM

WOW, Les Miles fired by LSU. Sad state that program is in. Rumor mill says they want Houston's coach or Petrino. If both spurn them, the board members who were after Miles are willing to put up a huge pile of cash to lure Saban back........that rumor says they will double what Bama is paying him. Petrino will not leave Louisville, he learned a hard lesson at Arkansas and was very grateful that Louisville gave him a 2nd chance after he stood them up. They are expanding the stadium and pouring money into the football program for him. He also has a better chance for success in the ACC currently. Same with Hermann at Houston, school is pouring money into the program, brand new stadium just opened and they are the big fish in a little pond in the AAC. Plus Houston is in talks to join the Big12. Why leave now?

LSU looks silly and would scare any coach not desperate for a job. These guys tried to oust Miles last year and failed, this year they were circling like vultures. Fact is, 1.5 seconds and a review from being 3-1 or 4-0........the grass ain't always greener and there are plenty of recent examples. Ask WV, ask Michigan, ask USC, Nebraska, Washington.........funny thing is, the new coach could come from Bama........yep, Kiffin. Really odd, the current interim coach at LSU is Ed Orgeron, the same man who took over after Kiffin was fired at USC. It comes full circle?

GMAN 10-02-2016 02:27 AM

Tennessee beat Georgia 38 to 34. Both teams scored touchdowns in the last 19 seconds of the game. Some of the pundits declared Georgia the winner with 9 seconds on the clock. Tennessee came back to throw a touchdown in the end zone. I guess Tennessee got lucky again, eh?

Mr. Ford95 10-02-2016 07:49 PM

Yep, it was luck. Bet they couldn't do it again today! Heck, I figured my Heels had gave up the ghost at FSU, got handed a pass interference with 4 seconds left that got them just inside our kickers range to hit the winner. I call that lucky too! He has been hit or miss this year at any range along with a pass interference by FSU that was not needed.

Louisville fell to Clemson in a heck of a game. Both teams didn't look great early.

TCU lost to OU and Gary Patterson went ape after the game about officiating.

Michigan got into a typical throwback Big10 game with Wisconsin and won 14-7.

Washington destroyed Stanford Friday night.

Mr. Ford95 10-07-2016 09:28 PM

This week GameDay heads to TAMU who will host Tennessee.

Florida-LSU was postponed, so we will have to wait till next week to see if LSU is back now that Les is gone. They sure showed up last week without him, lit up the scoreboard!

Alabama goes to a ranked Arkansas who is looking like the sleeper of the SEC West. Early test to find out if they are legit. This is the start for Alabama's Murderers Row of ranked opponents over the next 3 games. Tennessee next week followed by TAMU.

A resurgent Miami hosts old rival FSU, a reeling FSU team, this could get ugly quickly if FSU has another slow start.

Mr. Ford95 10-09-2016 06:57 PM

TAMU, holds on in double OT against Rocky Top. The Vols came storming back in the final 3 minutes to tie it.

Houston falls to Navy, they are done trying to get into the Playoff as a non Power 5.

Miami fell to FSU on a blocked PAT that would have tied the game with a minute left. This game got a bit ugly and chippy, just like the old days.

Alabama rolled early on Arkansas but Arkansas showed some spunk by keeping the fight.....

Washington took out 12 years of frustrations and beatdowns by Oregon in a straight whipping, 70-21.

The Red River Shootout, was just that, OU held on 45-40 as questions continue to swirl the UT program about Strongs future.

This week big games, Alabama gets what should be a still ranked Tennessee team in Knoxville. OSU goes to Wisconsin.

Mr. Ford95 10-17-2016 07:06 PM

OSU vs Wisconsin did not disappoint, OSU looked extremely vulnerable on both sides of the ball. They were lucky Wisconsin didn't have any speedy RB's.

Clemson survived a huge test vs NC State, 9 turnovers by Clemson in 2 games and yet still undefeated, lucky lucky lucky.

Alabama........well, thanks for showing up for at least a half Tennessee! Hopefully the voters learned their lesson, looks like South Florida all over again. They were paper tigers that shot to #2 before getting hammered in back to back games by inferior teams. UT was never a legit Top 10 team, sorry GMAN, it's the truth. They should have been no better than 15th-20th. I mean, Bama is Bama. They are just that good. Their defense and special teams won 14-10 vs UT's offense. UT could get another shot though in Atlanta.........injuries are not an excuse either. I hate hearing that excuse only because I played on a team that only dressed 15 players due to injuries. Several of us were still playing hurt and we NEVER used that excuse for losing games.

This week, Bama heads to College Station for another Top 10 battle with TAMU. 1 vs 6. #20 Auburn welcomes #17 Arkansas. #23 Ole Piss heads to newly ranked LSU who is suddenly putting points on the board. The Souths Oldest Rivalry is renewed in Charlottesville. West VA tries to stay on top of the Big12 as they host TCU. Utah tries to stay atop the Pac12 South against UCLA who is being heavily favored. Undefeated Nebraska has quietly crept atop the Big10 West and into the Top 10, they get a Purdue team that looks silly and coach less a week after nearly being upset at Indiana.

Mr. Ford95 10-24-2016 03:20 PM

Alabama rolled, eventually, looked like they let off the gas some or are just a bit tired from 3 games in a row against Top 10 ranked opponents. At one point TAMU was leading 14-13 before Bama turned it on. Their defense is scary when they start pinning their ears back and flying around.

Auburn flat embarrassed Arkansas, more than 500 yards rushing.......guess Auburn won't be looking for a coach soon! They finally have found a recipe that works. Run the ball with authority!

LSU eventually rolled up Ole Piss, Fournette went off! Experts are saying that LSU could still make the Playoff.......it's possible but they get Bama after an off week. Problem is, Bama is off this week too........

WV stays on top of the Big12 and on a collision course with Baylor at the end of the season. Both still have to get past OU though.

Speaking of OU, their shootout with Texas Tech was unreal. 1700 yards of offense, a new NCAA record. 7 TDS passes by Mayfield was an OU record. TT QB had 734 passing yards, tying an NCAA record. 2nd most combined points.

Nebraska eventually knocked off Purdue but it wasn't pretty. Utah did the same at UCLA.

The surprise was Ohio St falling at Penn St. Few saw that coming, PSU hadn't shown much in the way of an upset brewing. OSU just never looked right, a hangover from the slobber knocker with Wisconsin?

This week, the Battle of Michigan for the Paul Bunyan Trophy is up. Michigan heads to MSU. The Cocktail Party has lost some luster as UGA has lost a few games, lost to Vanda last time out, while Florida rolls in ranked.

Ranked games
#4 Washington goes to #14 Utah.
#7 Nebraska goes to #11 Wisconsin
#3 Clemson goes to #12 Florida St

ironeagle_2006 10-24-2016 07:13 PM

The MSU Michigan is going to be a War according to a cousin of mine that has a daughter that goes to Michigan on a Scholarship. OSU they have always had a weak defense and if you make them a one threat team aka take away the run from them then you can beat them. Also what really helped Penn State was getting back all their Starting LB's back from injury for that game. They had all their Starters back for the first time all year. Bama is going to have a problem with Auburn at the end of the Season in the Iron Bowl. Sorry I do not see them beating them in that game. Why Auburn is going to want to kick them in the teeth and ram them down their throat.

Mr. Ford95 10-25-2016 06:12 PM

MSU playing at home helps........but Michigan has looked good all year thus far. I haven't seen warning signs or down games from them yet. Obviously anything can happen but Michigan is running the ball very well and Speight is doing a fantastic job at QB. Haven't watched their D much, but MSU is struggling to run the ball. MSU isn't going to win a track meet here, the Michigan D has only given up 28 points once, to a ranked PAC10 leader, Colorado. They are averaging giving up 10 points a game while MSU has gone from ranked 8th to losing 5 straight........

OSU had that game wrapped up at State College. Up 21-7 and looking like they were going to run away. Their D didn't cost them Saturday night, they were on it pretty good. That blocked FG returned for a TD completely stunned them. They started pushing on offense, Barrett started pressing like they were way behind vs down 3.

Auburn isn't great yet. They get Ole Piss this week, the Rebel D is OK but they have problems stopping the run as LSU showed. In Auburn's 2 losses, they couldn't get on track running the ball like they are now. Unfortunately we won't better understand how Auburn will match up until the Iron Bowl! It IS setting up for a possible repeat of the Miracle on the Plains. Auburn is starting to find themselves and get some confidence, momentum going heading into it. Their schedule sets up nice the rest of the way with "softer, easier" games leading in where they could rest guys and work reps on offense. Bama is lethal though, if Auburn has some bruiser backs, that Bama D won't be pinning their ears back. TAMU showed that a big back, a Corp of them is what would be best. Auburn has at least 2 and they have speed too. If they can stay out of long 2nd and 3rd downs, they have a chance. You do not want your QB having to pass in predictable situations against them. Stay ahead of the chains.

Mr. Ford95 11-01-2016 11:56 PM

Michigan wins, the score doesn't reflect the beatdown MSU took. I watched a bunch of this game, Peppers is unreal on both sides of the ball. So much energy from him! MSU could not do a thing until Harbaugh let off the gas, got interesting at the end though, nice fight by MSU there.

OSU wins but it didn't look pretty at all. Big question marks now, 3 ugly games in a row, 2 of which they did JUST enough to eke out a win. Northwestern popped them right back in the mouth.

Ok, Auburn impressed me in the 2nd half. Chad Kelly threw for more than 300 yards in the 1st half! He finished with 465. The Auburn D really tightened up. Pettway went off on the offensive side running the ball, again.

Washington also impressed me on the road at Utah. They threw their best knockout punch early but Utah hung in and ultimately had the lead late before giving up the winning score on a punt return. Utah still had a chance, poor play to end it, tossed up a Hail Mary on 4th down instead of simply getting a first down with a rub route or something else creative. Still had time with a simple first down to then take a few shots at the end zone from a bit closer.

The Big12 title may have just fell into OU's hands. Baylor and WV go down on the same day.

Nebraska came up short in Camp Randall in OT, excellent game I watched. Is Nebraska back, obviously, not quite, but positive signs are showing under Mike Riley. Wisconsin finally got a big win at home over a Top 10 team.

The Cocktail Party, meh, Florida won, completely lacked any good buildup. Florida though is sitting in the drivers seat in the SEC East. Could they win out and spring a crushing upset in Atlanta? Coach M seems to have built a nice little team in Gainesville. They aren't a powerhouse but if some bounces go their way, could see them pulling the upset over Bama or Auburn.

This week's highlight games:
Bama goes to LSU
Nebraska goes to OSU

Keep an eye on the FSU at NC State game. State tends to get up for this game.
Syracuse travels to Clemson, let down game? Cuse played a solid game against Louisville earlier this season. They attempted to match the Lamar Jackson track meet and we're pretty successful, unfortunately they were already down 30 some points.

Missed the Clemson FSU game, but saw it was pretty good too, Clemson rolls on still.

Mr. Ford95 11-09-2016 07:19 PM

What a shakeup that nearly happened.

LSU held their own before falling 10-0 to Bama. The Bama D won that game, LSU was anemic on offense, 65 total yards?

OSU completely annihilated Nebraska.......nice touch by the Shoe crowd who cheered injured Nebraska QB Tommy Armstrong as he jogged to the sidelines in street clothes after appearing to be knocked out and left on a backboard.

FSU nearly got upset at NC State.

Clemson and Michigan had easy games.

Baylor lost again.

Florida got upset at Arkansas in a laugher.

Highly overrated TAMU got embarrassed at lowly Miss St, the score looked closer than it actually was and yet they barely fall in the rankings.........

This week's highlight games:

Baylor visits OU
WV visits Texas
LSU visits Arkansas
TAMU hosts Ole Miss who is without their QB the rest of the year
Washington hosts USC

Mr. Ford95 11-15-2016 08:18 PM

Bad week to be in the Top 25, especially the Top 10!

OU stomped Baylor
WV survived Texas, but Strong may not survive to the end of the season in Austin
LSU rolled over Arkansas
Ole Miss upset TAMU in a little bit of a shocker
USC upset the apple cart in the PAC12 North by knocking off Washington. The Apple Cup is looming larger as the winner may be the winner of the North

Clemson fell at home to unranked Pitt but barely fell in the polls. Does the committee keep them high up tonight?
Michigan lost on the road at unranked Iowa, they also barely fell in the polls.
Louisville escaped an upset by blowing out Wake Forest in the last 7 minutes with 4 TDs. In fact they trailed most of the game before rolling off 44 straight points.
Auburn lost to UGA which takes some buildup off the Iron Bowl in an ugly offensive display.

Big games:

Louisville travels to Houston Thursday in what should be Louisville's last hurdle before a possible ACC title game. High scoring game is very possible!

Ohio St goes to Michigan St for the start of their Michigan fight. Can Sparty show the same fight they did against Michigan and pull an upset?

Utah looks to continue the Oregon beatdown tour, everyone in the PAC12 is lighting the Ducks up this year, payback for years past?

Washington St and Mike Leach look to stay atop the PAC12 North against South leader Colorado. Yes, the Buffs have a 1 game lead in the South in what could be a precursor to a rematch in a few weeks if both win out.

Western Michigan looks to stay perfect and in the hunt for a possible BCS game against Buffalo. They need some help but the pollsters are not giving them any favors. They've already beaten Big10 teams, Illinois and Northwestern.

OU heads to the home of Country Roads Take Me Home! The outright lead of the Big12 is at stake in Morgantown.

USC goes across town in the battle of LA against UCLA at the Rose Bowl. USC needs a Colorado loss to throw the PAC12 South into chaos. 3 team tie is possible and right now nobody holds a tiebreaker over the other.
