I don't know where they get some of the "drivers" out here now, I've had them going up a hill in the center lane at 38 MPH in a 65 no 4 ways and never move over into the truck lane! What do you do? the left lanes full of cars doing 65+, if the truck lanes empty I'll pass them on the right(going 60mph) and even then they don't get the message.
A week or so ago I pulled into my fuel stop and the place is backed up, I jump in the only lane that doesn't have a line, just the truck at the pump, after getting fuel he got in his truck for a bit then comes back and tells me he has to set there for 30 more minutes! He's taking his break at the pump! I call um like I see um, and he decided to move but just the idea of it WTF????
The industry hit bottom a couple of decades ago.. and kept digging. Why do you think they want 18 year olds to drive OTR now? They have resorted to using the military as an excuse.. "if the military can have 18 year olds fight wars... why can they not drive OTR?"... Well, they still cannot drink, rent cars or much of anything else at 18. The reason they want 18 year olds is that they haven't had much of a chance to ruin their lives with DWI's and Criminal records yet.. its fertile soil for the blood suckers. I still pretty much hate the industry.. so I try and fing jobs where the driving is the minimal part and Its just a necessary evil. No truck stops, no shippers, none of that nonsense. I'm about to leave for work.. have to drag the MRI out to Idabel, OK then up to Stigler, OK.. its a long day.. but pay by the hour means that they can screw me around all they want.. they still have to pay me.Originally Posted by repete
