what's up guys? just joined the forum. a little about me. i'm a career chef that just lost his job when showboat atlantic city shuddered its doors. now i'm changing careers. getting my cdl through a south jersey cdl class and breezing right through it. i do have 10 years driving a 18' reefer back in the late 70's, early 80's. i'm no spring chicken at 60 years old. i am entering the field with a 25 year squeeky clean driving record w/o so much as a parking ticket. although i am getting an A license, it looks like i have an in for tri axel dumps, asphalt in particular. any info, pointers, does and don't's relating to triaxels would be appreciated.
Read this article. There's a huge list of trucking companies that hire trucking school graduates at the bottom of the page. Kudos, by the way, for embarking on a new adventure at age 60!
Tons of money in Asphalt, I got a buddy who idles in front of a road grater then dumps when he's full and makes $35/hr. Something tells me in NJ you'll get paid more. Good Luck man!
