Signature 600 For heavy haul. Good or bad?
-
Looking into getting a new truck to haul heavy equipment and some b-train work as well. Ideally I would like to stick to a cat like my other trucks but Im looking into a truck right now with a signature 600 cummins. I want to stay pre-emissions so this truck does appeal. I dont really know much about this series of cummins, just wondering if anyone had experience with them? Good or Bad? Fuel pig? Pulling power/reliability?and of course are they overly expensive to maintain?
Thanks
Bob

I prefer CAT, but if you plan on buying new, CAT is not available unless you go to a glider. I have a friend who swears by Cummins. I don't think he will buy anything else. Most heavy haulers that I know pull with CAT. There is no reason to expect that Cummins won't do the job. Parts are usually less than with CAT.

Yeah my other trucks are all cat. (Including my 6nz glider) thus my ignorance to a sig 6 cummins. I figure it probably wouldn't pull much worse then my c15 bxs but just wonder if a cummins has the longevity. The last cummins I dealt with was a 500 isx that became a money pit around 450,000 miles.

i dont know about the signature 600 but I do know someone with a 565 isx. he runs heavy and that truck will run. my dad has a regular isx and besides oil leaks its been pretty good.
