I searched the old posts for 'stepdeck versus flatbed" debate and rank posted something about hauling this excavator, Link Belt 210LX. I looked up the specs on the web and they are:
Weight: 44,800 lbs
Total length: 30' 1" (the boom and bucket are folded and lowered to the floor)
Undercarriage length: 14'9"
Width (outside tracks): 10'6"
Height: 9'7"
Do you guys think this load would work on a stepdeck with a 61" closed tandem spread? I can only take 34,000 lbs on the rear of the trailer. Based on my experience though as long as the load occupies the 26 ft on the lower deck (from the drop to the front axle of the trailer), and is centered against my turn signal, I can take over 49,000 lbs if the Conestoga is gone. I think the boom/arm would probably go in the back and the excavator should sit some 6-7 feet away from the upper deck.
