Whether its Swift, Werner, etc. I am just curious as someone told me this the other day. I figured they were talking our of their arse but I wanted to run it by you guys.

I heard that if you go in one of these schools, once training starts they look for ways to start sending people back home. Example given was say you fail your straight line backing or something, you get no second chance, sent back home. Then they bill you for the training you would have owed them anyway. Apparently that's why they can cycle class starts so soon, as they find ways to weed you out lol. And then hit you up for about 2 to 4 grand, however much it is.

Just curious if anyone had any experiences like this. I'm currently getting ready to get my CDL the old fashion way and then have my pick of companies as I want to get into skate boards. But I heard about this stuff..it may be all BS from someone who has an ax to grind, but I thought I'd hit up the trucking sages out there.

You could get sent home during training.Most of the people get sent home during Orientation.This is usually the result of you not telling everything on your application or you fail your drug test.There are several good flatbed companies out there that will train you.I personally started with Maverick.They are a great company and have an excellent training program including load securement.TMC is a good company.What truck driving school are you looking at?If I can be of anymore help,let me know.

Supposedly about 20-30 different companies come out there once you are in your 3 or 4th day recruiting, trying to get you locked down before you finish. Several flatbeds..TMC, McElroy, Mav, Hornady. I figure the work is worth getting home more often. I used to tarp flatbeds working at a Lowes Flatbed Distribution for most of those guys. Had to do about 90 trucks a day by hand during the spring and summer months, which was easier than the 60 I had to do in the winter since the tarps were frozen lol.
