There is some truth to odd numbers of trucks being better than even numbers. I would suggest you start with a single truck and learn the business before buying multiple trucks starting out. As with any business it takes time to learn your way around. It is a different environment going from a company driver to an owner where you are responsible for all of the bills. It is also different when you go from being an owner and operator of a single truck to an owner with multiple trucks and drivers. You are not only responsible for paying the bills but you must also find loads and make payroll. You are now responsible for the livelihood not only yourself but of others. Before you jump in to buying multiple trucks give yourself an opportunity to make things work with one.
