I used the trailer brake to slow the truck and work it to the shoulder, I was afraid it might dive if I stepped on the brake pedal. Kinda scary at first but turned out uneventful. The blown tire ripped out the air line to the brake chamber so all in all it cost me about 2 1/2 hours. Not bad, considering no one got hurt.
Last steer tire I had blow out on me was a super single, on a 1979 Paystar5000, with power steering by "Armstrong". Good thing the speed limit was only 55 back then..and the truck could only do 45...cuz I liked to have crapped myself trying to get the truck stopped in a straight line!!!
For the un-initiated...."Armstrong" power steering...........The stronger your arms...the better your power steering!!!!  :|
