The people I haul for just ordered a new 53' Mac step deck. All aluminum.
Anyone pull a Mac?
Are they good trailers?
$53,000 after FET and sales tax. I hope it's a good one. Yikes!!

Not for $53,000. We just bought 7 new 53' step decks all aluminum and they didn't pay near that apiece.
It was $45,000 before taxes.
What brand did you buy?

Mac does make a good trailer, but there is NO way I would pay that much for a step deck. I paid $30,000 for mine 3 years ago. I could almost buy 2 for what your company paid for one trailer.
Ya but in ten years, with our Michigan winter chemicals all there would be left of the two Transcrafts is 4 53' long rust stains on the concrete.

Yes, but in 10 years I would have made twice as much money with my two Transcrafts than you would with one MAC.
I am not buying the trailer. I have a Reitenour Flat and a Kayln Step, the step deck is steel & I just can not keep up with the paint. I am working towards getting a aluminum step deck also.
The people that I haul for bought a new Tarasport drop deck in 1999, it doesn't get washed as much as it should be washed. But where we wash stuff is also where we load trucks, and in the Winter there would be a big ice problem.
They only paid 19,000 for that trailer and it has been a great trailer but it is a mess now rusted right to shiet. This is the 2nd trailer in 20 years that has just gone right to heck with the rust up here. So they want to try aluminum.
We looked for used but didn't have much luck. They want 53' with a 10' upper deck. With out the sliding axle.
I also think it is to much money, I would not buy that trailer. But I am the only one that pulls it and if Mac is one of the best and I don't have to pay for it it's all good for me.
The new trailer has two SS boxes, head board, rear axle dump valve all aluminum wheels, no nailing strips ( that's extra??), 9 led's down the side, 3/5/3 leds in the rear, winch track. All in the price
