KLLM announced friday 3/14 that the shares of the company owned by Bernie Ebbers ( 65% of the company) had been sold.
A group of investors led by Jack Liles, who is the son of one of the original founders, had successfully bought Ebbers interest in the company.
The Liles Family already owned the other 35% of the company.
KLLM's managment team will be led by Jack Liles as Chairman of the Board with over 30 yrs with the company and Jim Richards as President with over 20 yrs with the company.
What effects will this have on KLLM?
Time will tell, but I assume that since the shares that Ebbers had were being held in receivership by the court, management was having to deal with that.
New trucks and trailers that was to have begun arriving in february was delayed becase of the sale being finalized, so hopefully the new equipment will began arriving shortly.
I don't forsee any big changes since the majority owner and management team have been with the company for several years.
With $4 a gallon fuel and freight demand being soft, they probably have their hands full already.
