Nah for a basic no headaches radio get one of the two, both are solid and rugged.
You dont want weatherband on it- You do want SWR calibration, ant warning/high SWR warning light and get a better mic for it like a RK56 or Astatic
Both are good radios. I would get the Cobra, myself. I've always used the Cobra, and I have had good luck with them. As I stated, both are good radios.
I have a Uniden 78 and a Roadking 56 mic. Both are good inexpensive radios. Just be sure to replace the stock mic with a Roadking or Astatic. The stock mics are junk.

I had a Cobra 29 NWXST....it was a piece of :dung: I got rid of it. I went back to using my 10 year old Uniden 78. Works one heckuva lot better. And I have never had any trouble with it. And like the other poster said....get a better mic than the standard....but then that is true with all CB's.
Always remember, the most important know on a CB is the On/Off, and its normally best left in the Off position. 8)
I have owned both brands. I bought a Uniden last year for less than a Cobra 29. It has more features for less money. From a quality standpoint, I don't think there is much difference between the two brands. I planned on buying the Cobra, but bought the Uniden because of the features and price.
I chose the cobra always had good luck with them dad has been driving for 25 years and only uses cobra of course he rarely uses it anyway. I have a 29 it works great with a good mic I reccomend an astic mic but it is in the closet I am currently using a galaxy 959.
