The companies I have looked at so far, Schneider and CFI, were looking for a clean driving record going back three years. I am going to pull my MVR this week, though, before I do the phone interview w/ Schneider, to see if there's anything that I might have forgotten about.
When I was a teenager, I was a pretty reckless driver (several speeding tickets), but that was a long time ago, more than eight or nine years, I would say. I
think that the MVR only keeps records for six years back.
I did get one speeding ticket recently (speed trap, thanks very much, Snellville), but I don't remember how far over I was going, so that's why I'm going to pull the MVR so I can know for sure. I don't think it was more than about 15 mph over. (The trap was on a road where everyone typically goes 50-55mph, but the posted speed limit is an unfair and stupid 35. I think they did that deliberately. Oh well, now I know.)
Getting married has been good for me...I'm a MUCH more careful driver now, and that might pay off soon if I can get behind the wheel of a rig.
