UPS Part time/Seasonal Feeders
-
I just got an offer from UPS to run feeder lines until the end of the year, provided I pass their road test. 2 questions. what will their road test consist of? And what are the odds of part time seasonal drivers getting in the door permanently? Thanks for the info guys!

I don't know about the road test. But UPS hirea most of their drivers from the seasonal pool. Even if they let you go after the season is over, if you left on good terms they will call back drivers from the pool. I would say go for it. My brother has been a package driver for almost 20 years and he makes between $70-80,000 a year and has great benefits.

The only time they will hire from the outside for feeders is if no one from the inside will fill it. If there is a feeder job open it is bid out to the full-time package drivers first. If no package drivers fill it then they can go outside and hire. Odds on getting hire on? Can't say. It depends on the area. Give it a shot you never know what could happen.

i have heard they will hire a team driver from outside if you have a terminal that runs teams close by. over 100,000k a year. well over after 2 or 3 years.

I started as a Christmas season driver 30 years ago in Los Angeles (Vernon). When they laid me off, they called back and I went part time in the sort. Worked my way up from there, retired this year (feeder), best decision I ever made....Good luck.
