I have a little bitty Midland m-100. I have tried microphones that were just off the rack at a t/s and they never work.
Guess I need a quick lesson on this.
I dont know anything about a Midland M-100, but you might try a RoadKing, if you want to spend $50, or an Astatic mic for $35-$40. I like RoadKing mics, but I've also heard that Astatic mics work well too. Both should work for Midland radios, if yours is a 4-pin.

Roadking is one of the mikes i've tried. Oh well, the old mike still works - for now. Yes, it is a 4-pin.
thanks anyway.
The wiring on that particular radio is different then the standard 4 pin, say a 29. You will have to take it to a good radio guy to have it changed. I cannot remember the color code off hand, and the manual that I have all that stuff in is at the house.
I know the ground is in a different place from a standard pattern. The M-100 is not really a Midland, it is made by another company.
