Every once in a while I se an older truck for sale with an 8II or 8LL trans. What is that?
its a 8 speed with lo-lo. A really deep gear. Its a switch on the side of the sfiter kinda like a 13 or 18speed would have. Thast LO-LO and when they say low they mean it. You see alot of them in dump trucks and mixers for alot of off road stuff.
You shift it just like a 9 speed when on the road, but in off road conditions
you can use lo (on the stick), and if that isn't low enough, then you can engage lo lo by flipping the deep reduction button.
You guys are gettin me excited

in an otr truck no probably not the best choice, but you can do 70 at normal rpm`s in most cases and their probably the easiest tranny out there to shift.
