I am currently looking at a 2003 T800 KW Day cab to haul logs with, and was wanting advice and suggestions on this.
2003 T-800 KW Day Cab
Mileage 459,917
Transmission: FRO16210C (Not sure what all that is, its a 10 speed)
Gear Ratio: 4.33
Wheel Base 202"
Suspension 40K AG 100 Air
Gauges: Full
Frame Single
Tires 11R-24.5
Wheels Aluminum all around
Fuel Tanks 150 Right Side only
Engine: ISX - 475 Hp, Cummins
Engine Brake: Yes
MISC: Deck Plate, Stainless Steel Half Fenders, Fender Mirrors, Painted Visor, Fleet Maintained, Work Light, and Fifth Wheel Ramps.
My questions are these:
1. What type of fuel mileage can I expect with this gear 4:33, be?
2. What is the Fifth Wheel Ramps that is listed on the spec sheet?
3. On the Transmission spec: FRO16210C, does this stand for some type of torque rating and does it affect the fuel mileage?
I can get a 3 year, 300,000 mile Used Truck Warranty on this, deductible of $150.00 per occurrence, this is through the National Truck Protection Company.
Total Price $57,000.00, with the Used Truck Warranty.
4. Does this seem like a fair price? I did not want to go with a newer truck, as I haul logs for a living and currently own a 1985 FLC Day cab, and want to update.
5. Does anyone know about the National Truck Protection Company out of Carlstadt NJ?
I don't have any pictures to post as I have seen the spec sheet and pictures at the dealer, and the truck will be at the KW Dealership in Chattanooga TN this Friday or Saturday.
Any advice and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
