Also, i seem to use my 16 hour exception on a regular basis here, and i was trying not to have to use it for a 15 minute fuel stop. It's not like I picked the equipment or the load or the route, but yet I feel like I'm the one who has to take the heat.
The dispatcher is wrong as far as HOS regs. are concerned, you can log as many hours you want on line 4 after the 14th hour you just can't drive or resume driving again until the 10 hour off duty time has been met. However you are probably right in playing it the way they want it, most saftey men in my experience only talk a good game they really don't know the rules as well as they should. And it usually isn't worth the effort to try to change their mind, I think it becomes an ego thing to them.Originally Posted by Phreddo
