I know of at least 1 reason. He became known as a loose cannon on the track and would not fess up to something being his fault, he would blame it on someone or something else. In the words of Tony Stewart on David Ragan, Jimme was driving "like a dart without feathers." Fans did not like it and he had lost almost all respect he had with his fellow drivers. His run-ins with JR did not help matters, nor did his little tiff with Sterling Marlin a few years ago. Jimmie has gotten better but doesn't mean I'm going to start liking him, even if my driver is his owner and teammate.
