Does anyone have anything they can tell me about JCT? I'm seriously thinking about applying with them. My accountant says I should. He handles a lot of their drivers and, according to him, they get tons of miles and make great money. Same story from some of their drivers. Any info is greatly appreciated. Waiting on their recruiter to call me back. Good riddance to US Xpress!!!
A very close friend of mine drove for them twice. He recommends to stay away, stay far away!!! That is, unless you enjoy fudging your log on a daily basis to make that good money and get those good miles. Typical reefer outfit with lots of long trips and multi-stop loads...and almost impossible schedules to make on-time running safe and legal.
Now remember though, this is his opinion from being there and I'm just passing it along. Good luck with your decision !
I'm just looking for a good company that is willing to give me the miles I need to survive out here. My current lease is almost up and I just can't see staying here as unhappy as I am. Jan. and Feb combined I only got 12,000 miles. I owed as many weeks as I made money. I would like to lease again because I really enjoy it but would also like something for my payments.
Find the right company that works for you as a company driver and be happy! There's too many options out here where you can get what you need without having to make truck, fuel, and insurance payments. But, to each their own ya know...
As stated above, I would avoid leases or purchases right now because after we attack Iran, fuel prices will soar to levels never seen and unaffordable for Owner/Lease Ops.
Where are you getting your info that we're going to attack Iran? Do you work for the CIA or are you some sort of top level General? We don't have the military capability to attack Iran. Our military is stretched too thin. I have several friends that are high ranking officials in the military and they say we have to first withdraw our troops from one of our other battle fronts first before we can go after them. The only thing we could do is an aerial campaign, but this response has nothing to do with the question so I will now answer the question. I would avoid all L/P for all the reasons already stated by several other posters. Why not just go out and buy a good used truck outright? What are you doing with the truck you are currently leasing? Are you going to buy it on a buyout?
