If Phillips got the job, he'll do well. He's a good coach and extremely smart and he's coming in with no baggage, although he'll probably have to deal with Jones a lot. If he can do that, he'll be golden.
Norv Turner would have been a good coach, but he's got the baggage of getting fired a couple of times and that could effect decisions in the future. Phillips will come out with cannons blazing. Garrett as OC should do well. Hope they get Rivera as DC.
I dont know much about Phillips. I think, Norv Turner would be good to come back to his old job. It would be cool to see him back. I was so upset when he went to Washington. That was un-American :P . What about Singletary? Is he still in the line up for a spot somewhere?
Singletary will have to wait another year. I hope he gets his shot.
On Wade Phillips, you can't hold the Music City Miracle against him. Hard to say how far the Bills would have gone for not that one play. Then again, he did start Rob Johnson over Flutie in that game, and the Bills only went 8-8 (2000) the following year before Phillips got canned.
Turner spent 2 years with the Raiders, so they don't count
But Turner did only make one playoff appearance with the Redskins in 7 years (NOT GOOD)!
It will be interesting to see how (if) Rivera operates as an OFFICIAL DC.
I say official because I am sure Lovie still influences the Defensive scheme/personnel at Chicago.
Garrett is an unproven commodity, but he appears to be a bright person which only equates to POTENTIAL.
Jerry Jones has to get out of the picture-Just Own the Team and step aside and let the Coaches Coach.
Ten-four to that Yoop. We've got the same problem on the college level down here at the University of Arkansas. Athletic Director Frank Broyles needs to just be the AD, step aside, and let the coaches coach!
