Hi, I'm from California and I was wondering if anyone knew if they required double clutch when taking the test.
if anyone has any information or suggestions about where to find more info it would be much appreciated.
instructors vary, even if the state handbook specifies having to double clutch some still don`t care, and even if you don`t have to some still make ya do it.
I grew up floating gears with a 5x4, when I went for my driving test the instructor demanded I double clutch, after 5 minutes of grinding the hell out of a 9 speed fuller I asked him if I could finish the test floating the gears with not so much of a chirp out of the transmission if he`d pass me, he agreed and I got my license.
thank you glad i could amuse my fellow drivers. But to really answer the question I do believe double clutching during a CDL road test is probably pretty standard through out the USA. Best thing to do is call your local Motor vehicle dept and talk to the CDL examiner
