I have my own authority, who is responsible for putting In and Out times on bol's? Do i have to have times on bills? I have not been putting times on bills, is that a violations? i have not been audited yet. Been in business since 8/10
I don't put times on BOL. I had a paperwork inspection in VA, they didn't say anything.

Times are not required, but it would be a good pratice to have 2 bills, 1 to show if you are stopped and inspected (you DONT want time on your bills here as they will match your logs to them)
And a second set with in-out times incase the shipper/reciever decide they want to argue with you and not pay for something. Even if you are NOT billing them for detention, i would still put it on there and have a manager or owner sign the bills. I once had a place refuse paying for a load I delivered because I had the fork-lift operator sign my bills and the company said "he was not authorized to unload my trailer or sign my bills" and eventually they got their money for the load, but from what I understand, it took a few months!
