So the 387 I just bought has no cables holding the hood back for when you open it. It just pulls forward will the front brackets hit against the bumper. Is this the design of these or did someone take them off this truck? I have not seen a truck without cables/springs to assist holing the hood open or from flipping all the way to the ground. I know a few on here have a 387 and some of you have driven them too. Just wondering
The 387's that i used to drive all had 2 cables.
I figured it out. They are on a torsion bar system just like a garage door. No cables, just 2 assistance shocks underneath. Mine is bad but dealer is fixing it free of charge.
