I just finished my first 3 weeks with Schneider, I have been nothing but impressed. The first 2 weeks were at the academy in Fontana, then 7 days with a trainer. First impressions, Schneider training was incredible, I have nothing but praise about my first two weeks at the academy. I went from never being in a truck to feeling that I could actually drive the thing. SAFETY is stressed more than anything.
We`started with 13 students and finished with 3,the training is not easy, but it is doable if you apply yourself. 5 of the failed students were experienced drivers, Schneider will help you through if you are compentent, but if you cannot drive, you will be sent home.
After training I went out with a TE (Training Engineer), I applied what I learned in school and studied hard. With your TE you will do all of the driving, all of the trip planning, and all of the qualcomm. When you have mastered all of the above you will be sent back to school to test again to make sure you have learned what you need to know to be turned loose on your own. Then after you have passed that (SQT) you will take your CDL test.
Once all of the above is done you will be assigned your truck and you will be on your own.
I would recommend Schneider Training for anyone who is thinking about getting into trucking. Iknow I enjoyed it.
