Is this a reliable indicator of my success should I decide to go trucking?
I did my Mapp assessment and here are my results as far as trucking is concerned:
Truck Drivers, Light or Delivery Services - 75%
Truck Drivers, Heavy - 76%
Tractor-Trailer Truck Drivers - 72%
With regards to this test, if you score 65% or more to a certain career, that means its some career that you'd be kinda content about.
I'm currently a data entry office person... I scored 69% on my current job.
And oh... I've read the downsides of trucking.
- I'm not an extrovert. Little to no friends. Yep. Your stereotypical loner kid in high school... lol Limited social life. I can last for 3 days with ZERO contact with people.
- I dont mind working alone. I also wouldnt mind another dude tagging along in the truck. I've seen trucks on the road with 3 people in them.
- I'm not married.
- I dont mind working long hours on "weird" days. In fact, my data entry job sometimes requires me to work 12 hours on the weekends.
- But... I kind of have a problem with working long hours and getting paid like shit. I read a post here somewhere about a walmart boy making more money? I dunno if that is true for a good percentage of truckers. I make between $700-$800 bi-weekly doing data entry. Will my pay be more than that? I
And btw, what is the difference between a heavy truck and a tractor trailer driver?
