Question: If I were hauling a placarded load and after unloading that load, having less than a reportable quantity on board, am I required to remain placarded or can I blank my placards and bump over RR Tracks until reloaded?

That all depends on what type unit you are pulling. Flatbed, Dry van, and Reefer.......remove the plaqards and sweep out the box, and you are good to go.

IF you have a tanker, then the plaqards stay in place until the tank has been properly cleaned and you hold a wash out slip indicating such.

Even if you still have product on board (van/flatbed/reefer), if you have less than RQ, then you remove the placard.

Most dangerous stuff I've hauled, is my Venison Chili.

I hauled phosphorous tri-chloride once. Customer said they use it to make moisturizer for women's make-up. 55 gallon drums in a dryvan. Was I happy to get that off. Placards came off when the forklift was under the last drum.
