One seat or two?

I hope this section is where this question goes.

Is it mandatory to have a passenger seat? I am thinking of removing the passenger seat and building a "cabinet" in it's place to hold a computer and printer along with misc other items.

Thanks.

no, there are no rules concerning passenger seats, if it's a company truck though, you will need permission to remove it, but I'm sure you know that

We have a company driver who removed his passenger seat and put a refrigerator in it's place.

Thanks for the responses.

This is not a company truck....well.....my company, but I don't think I'll say anything.

just to be safe, you better ask yourself for permission

yeah, don't be too hard yourself.

I took the seat out myself, and put down hardwood flooring, a big fridge, microwave, flatscreen etc. I had DOT look at it, and say "nice" but nobody bothered me for not having a passanger seat...

A "big fridge? A T.V.? You didn't place anything in the way of your view out that window did you? Apparently not if DOT didn't object.

hobo would never take out his passenger seat, that's where he drinks beer. :p

One thing to keep in mind; if you remove a seat from your cab, you will be giving up an important "asset"!!
