Inspection Rpt... Advise Employer?
Got a DOT Inspection Report. Had "speeding 65 in a 55 zone" violation and a "Log Book Entry" violation. listed on in. DOT guy says he's not going to issue any citations, just gives me a warning!
The Inspection Report shows under citation# "warning". Do I need to notify my company of this report, yes I know I "Should", but will they ever see it if I don't since no citations were issued? |
Yes, they'll see it because companies routinely run new MVRs on current drivers to keep records up to date. If they do and it pops up and you didn't tell them, I'm pretty sure they'd let you go for failing to alert them.
If the officer said he's putting it down as a warning, I don't see the need to worry. |

The "reports" I received had instructions on the back detailing what is to be done. Aside "Namecalling TW is not a great way to get answers around here" |
d)(1) The driver of any motor vehicle receiving an inspection report shall deliver it to the motor carrier operating the vehicle upon his/her arrival at the next terminal or facility. If the driver is not scheduled to arrive at a terminal or facility of the motor carrier operating the vehicle within 24 hours, the driver shall immediately mail the report to the motor carrier. |
I've had a couple warning violations, where I signed my life away. Both were instructed to be given to the motor carrier (my company) to be signed and returned something like within 30 days. I had no choice but to inform them. I'm still working (well was, laid off now) even after being put OOS.
P.S. Show some respect, or keep comments to yourself. I may not help next time. |

You really should not reply to questions you are ill informed about. Did you make it past the third grade? I've seen your posts b4, get a clue! Warnings DO NOT show up one one's DMV.

Yeah that wasn't nice....
But I do like the soak your head in a bucket of water.... I might have to borrow that goodie. *crap*:D Where is the twisted evil smilie? |
Actually, I didn't get it wrong. From the MVR side of things, I've been ordering MVRs and reveiwing them for 7+ years. I've reviewed thousands of them. I've seen everything from warnings to speeding tickets for 1 mph over the limit. It all depends on the state but warnings can and do show up.
That said, your post was rather humorous. You asked whether or not you should report it. I said you should. You also asked if they will ever see it. I told you they would. I also told you that there was no need to worry about it, too, as it was just a warning. However, you seem to already know everything. I'm not sure that anyone ever needs to ask another question of the board. I'll just expand your PM limit box to 500,000 so everyone can simply PM you their questions. At least in 7 days.:rolleyes::rolleyes: Have an enjoyable week. |

The OP may have a point.
Twilight Flyer has been causing problems on this board for a long time now. It's about time that TF's antics were brought to the attention of the board administrators! Maybe TF will now settle down and get with the program.:D;) I have high hopes for Twilight Flyer.:p http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/l...pre122/bbr.jpg |
I'll never conform! :p
Now, if you'll excuse me, I must take time out to make my own credit card. I want free shower tokens, extra miles, and a nice picture of the pile of skulls from all of those I have destroyed on this board. :D I need more smilies, too. |

Either TF, misunderstood the OP or I do.
If it was a road side inspection(DOT) then what the OP could be referring to is--- Speeding ON THE LOG BOOK! not an actual speeding ticket per say. Just he got from one place to another and the line was too short( log book compression). In that case- no it won't be on his MVR(not a moving traffic warning)-- it's just a warning on his INSPECTION FORM. Yes, he needs to have his company safety man-- sign the Form and return it. Especially, if he got shut down for 10hrs! |

BTW, the warning never showed up on any DMV/BMV report.;) |

Hey, did I just say that out loud? I'm out of here. My husband has a solution for women talking too much. Sccooee. It's a little bit old fashion, I guess, definetly not high tech or politically correct. But in our house, nothing says peace and quiet like DUCT TAPE!:nana::love:. Sure some may call us strange or more formally Dr. Strange Love, but it works. Tried, tested, and true. |

Using the Safestat Online button allows for a person to search the FMCSA database for a carrier's info. Once the carrier's data is visited then you can see vehicle/driver inspections by VIN and license plate numbers. Carriers are required to review their profile and ensure drviers are turning in all driver/vehicle exams. So whether you were cited or not the driver/vehicle examination report is now part of your (FMCSA personnel may search A & I by driver's name) and the carrier's. Be safe. |
