California ticket.....
 

hi Guys i got a ticket in California for doing 62 in 55 zone i need references for good lawyers some one said that they can defend you in about 250 bucks lately i have been talking to some...and they all want over 600 bucks to defend me so any suggestions/references will help.........

My Last ticket was dismissed and bail refunded. you will not find a decent traffic attorney for less than $500. On top of that, you will have to post the full bail amount.

I'm not taking a jab at the driver who got the ticket..... But, as you can see, a driver who gets a ticket is between a rock and a hard spot. Either way, whether a lawyer is hired or not....the driver is going to have to spend $$$.

Wouldn't it just be easier to not get the tickets? As in...do the speed limit, or stay close enough not to attract attention.

His experience belies the fact that many drivers claim that the CHP and other cops will let you get away with XX speed. Its all BS. Its a completely discretionary issue for the LEO. Why take the chance?

I'm based out of NorCal and run I-5 daily and have for the past 9 years. I have never heard of or seen a driver being ticketed doing 62 in a 55. I have a CHP tell me at Wheeler Ridge and Dunsmuir that they do not give a truck a second look unless it is going over 65mph and in the right lane.

The Cop could have had a trucker Spit on his Donut.. I had one ticket that the Ga State Trooper had that Attitude... When I showed up for Court, he was all beside his self changing the story...

Pay the ticket immediately and it won't show on your license, unless you have a ca. license. I have had many a ticket and they have never showed on my license.

Fact is,...no matter what one LEO says,...there is always another LEO who WILL write you a ticket. Its a roll o' the dice.
Sooner or later we will all get a ticket for something,...its their job man,...its what we pay them to do :wink: .

I too recently got a ticket, I'm an o/o aggregate hauler, outta Fresno, Ca,
the CHP PRICK said I was going 65 in a 55, what really pisses me off, is the fact that you CAN'T go to traffic school anymore.... That is so F'n UNFAIR!!! I have until June 7th to go to court, or pay!
Ya know, you see 4wheelers breaking the law all the time, but instead, we'll pick on the trucks!!!!
This DICK-HEAD CHP guy was so nice, & telling me that truckers get treated unfairly, sounded so sympathetic, BUT STILL writing me a ticket!!!
It's like the want to ruin your perfect record, mine was ticket free, until now! I heard that it will stay on my record for 3 years now....

Since you are unable to take the California online traffic school this ticket will also make your personal auto insurance go up where a 4 wheeler could take traffic school and keep it off his record. You do have the option of doing a Trial by Declaration. California is the only state I know of that allows you to do this. If the officer does not reply, they dismiss the ticket. If they find you guilty, you can still request a trial. Based on what others have reported, the officer does not reply to the TBD about 15 to 20% of the time, especially when it is a minor ticket. Worth the price of a stamp but you still have to post bond in the amount of the fine.
