I am thinking if leving UK for US or Canada
 

Hi all think of coming over the pond to US Canada been driving wagons12 yrs will US or Canadian companeys take UK and European Driving into account or will I be like Newbie

Hi scoty, you will need to take your test again over here, even for your car.
most of it for you will be the different traffic laws, no big deal. the demand for drivers over here is unreel, there is a company in Regina Saskatchewan, that brought in fifty Brits to drive for them. it is not un common to here a English accent on the Cb around here, good luck to you on what ever you decide to do.

Scoty, I was talking with a Brit a few weeks ago in Texas. He told me that it was near impossible to get a job in the States, but Canada was no problem, and eagerly let him in.

I believe that the US will only let in the uneducated and unskilled from 3rd and 4th world countries, and a few planetary systems of unknown location.

But if you do go to Canada, you will have no problem getting into the states in a truck. Just pay the nice man at the booth your $5 (US) and enjoy your stay!

Learn Spanish, fly to Mexico and walk across the border. :wink:

To be honest mate you haven't got a prayer of getting into the US to drive unless you marry a US citizen, and even once you've done that you're UK car and HGV aren't worth a carrot here and you'll have to take both tests again...luckily they are a piece of cake compared to the UK test.
You're best bet is Canada but you will need to check into that yourself.

another man i know who moved here from the UK told me he had a hard time, because a truck driver is not considered a skilled trade
